The 11th Anniversary Celebration of PT KPBN (Inacom). The thanksgiving ceremony, which was fairly simple but held solemnly, was attended by the Board of Commissioners, the Board of Management, General Managers and Managers, as well as employees in the Head Office and branch offices.
At an age considered quite mature, for 11 years KPBN has overcome many business challenges, both globally and nationally, but has answered them with various transformation efforts and business development to survive.
The Covid-19 pandemic situation, which has hit the economic and business sectors hard, has not spared KPBN. However, through various efforts, KPBN continued to do business in the midst of the crisis, and has slowly started to recover towards the end of 2020.
In his speech, Edward S Ginting as Director of PT KPBN said that step by step, starting in the second half of 2020, some bright spots have emerged, finally showing positive figures in the financial report towards the end of this year. In line with the theme of this year's anniversary, Growing Together, Edward hopes that all employees can work together, cooperate, support, and give their best efforts to KPBN to be able to turn this crisis around.
In addition, on this occasion, the President Commissioner of PT KPBN, Abdullah, conveyed a message from the Board of Commissioners, that there are still many things that need to be improved at KPBN, and urged all employees to work together so that KPBN can continue to grow and progress.

In Early Stage, PTPN Sells 40,000 Tons of Sugar Directly to Retail. Holding PTPN III President Director Muhammad Abdul Ghani said that PTPN, as a sugar producer, is currently selling ready-to-consume products to maintain sugar price stability in accordance with the consumer reference of IDR 12,500/kg. The hope is that there will no longer be spikes in sugar prices like what happened in early 2020 when they reached IDR 18,000-22,000/kg.
`If we control downstream, we can also maintain price balance for farmers. The public can also obtain fair sugar prices,` Ghani said in a virtual press conference on Wednesday (8/5/2020).
On the same occasion, Holding PTPN III Marketing Director Dwi Sutoro said that for these first sales to retail, PTPN released 40,000 tons, or 5% of total 2020 production.
`We have a commitment between our programs starting with 5%. If out of 800,000 to 1 million tons, that's around 40,000 tons or 40 million packs, that's what we're starting with,` Dwi explained.
However, along with the sugar production increase program, in the next 5 years PTPN is targeting packaged sugar sales to retail and traditional markets of around 400,000-500,000 tons per year.
`In the next 5 years we are committed to having a mission, through a strategy towards 20% or 1/5. If it's 2 million tons (per year), that means around 400,000-500,000 tons in the next 5 years,` he added.

PTPN Holding will Focus on Oil Palm and Sugar. President Director of the Nusantara Plantation Holding, Muhammad Abdul Ghani, explained that the company has a strategy to strengthen sugar and palm oil commodities by reducing the area of land for other plantation plants, namely rubber and tea. `So we will reduce (land) for rubber and tea, but we will increase it for sugar and palm oil. This is part of PTPN's role as a BUMN supporting national independence,` said Abdul Ghani, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Ghani explained that the company will strengthen the sugar commodity by expanding the area of sugarcane plants from around 56 thousand hectares (ha) currently to around 80 thousand ha. One of the expansions is carried out by converting rubber land owned by the subsidiary and synergizing with other BUMN companies, such as Perum Perhutani. According to Ghani, the company's decision to reduce the area of rubber and tea plantations is based on the increasing need for national sugar. Fulfilling domestic sugar production through the expansion of sugarcane areas is considered to be able to reduce the country's dependence on sugar imports. In 2019, PTPN recorded the national sugar requirement reaching around six million tons, consisting of three million tons of sugar for household consumption and three million tons for the food and beverage industry. Meanwhile, domestic sugar production has only reached 2.2 million tons. On the other hand, the contribution of other plantation crops to food independence, such as rubber and tea, can be substituted with other commodities. Ghani added that the PTPN Group is targeting one million tons of sugar consumption production this year with a yield of around eight percent. The production comes from the sugarcane areas owned by PTPN, namely PTPN II, PTPN VII, PTPN IX, PTPN X, PTPN XI, PTPN XII, and PTPN XIV, as well as farmers this year around 168 thousand ha and is projected to be able to produce sugarcane for milling as many as 12.2 million tons.
