Supporting Cianjur Earthquake Victims, KPBN Distributes CSR Funds and Basic Necessities. In order to ease the victims’ burden, KPBN has moved quickly to give aid to the Cianjur earthquake victims, which was given directly by Head of the Secretariat and Corcom Erwin Garnadi to the Emergency Post of PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII, Kebun Gedeh/Tanawattee, Jl. Sukamulya, Sukamulya, Cugenang, Cianjur Regency, West Java 43252 on Friday (11/25/2022).Erwin said that the aid from KPBN included tents, sleeping equipment, 100 sarongs, vitamins, medication, rice, instant noodles, baby diapers, mineral water, sardines, corned beef, sausages, shredded jerked meat, and women’s and children’s underwear.“As the KPBN family, we extend our deepest condolences over the natural disaster of the earthquake, and may this CSR program be one way we create harmony and well-being for the community. We hope the aid that was given can help ease the burden of our brothers and sisters and can give them moral and spiritual encouragement to recover and bounce back after the magnitude 5.6 earthquake that shook the region on Monday (11/21),” Erwin added.“Thank you for the aid that KPBN has given. We will distribute it as quickly as possible to the earthquake victims. We hope that the company will receive blessings and that the aid that was distributed will be beneficial to many people,” said Ricky Rahman, Assistant Manager of Kebun Gedeh.“I hope that the aid that has been distributed is beneficial to the earthquake victims in the vicinity of PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII, Kebun Gedeh/Tanawattee. KPBN promotes Indonesia to become a reference for determining world CPO prices

KPBN promotes Indonesia to become a reference for determining world CPO prices. PTPN chief executive Rahmanto Amin Jatmiko said that Indonesia is the world's largest palm oil producer, but that at present global palm oil industry players are referencing two main exchanges, MDEX in Malaysia and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. `We are determined, we have initiated steps for Indonesia to make its mark on the dynamics of world CPO price formation through the KPBN's commodity exchange,` said Rahmanto in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday. Since 1968 KPBN, a subsidiary of holding company PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (PTPN) has been organizing the CPO exchange for palm oil industry players in Indonesia. The KPBN's daily palm oil exchange has become a reference for the Agriculture Ministry as the benchmark for the price of fresh fruit bunches (TBS) from oil palm farmers, as well as for the Ministry for Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as a reference for biodiesel subsidy. Rahmanto explained that the initial step to realize the aspiration of making Indonesia a reference point for forming global CPO benchmark prices has been to collaborate with two international media companies, Reuters and Bloomberg. According to him, the collaboration has also become one of KPBN's strategic endeavors to introduce itself to the international community in order to realize Indonesia's role as a benchmark for global palm oil commodity prices. `One of the benefits of this collaboration will be that prices formed on the KPBN Commodity Exchange will be featured on the Bloomberg and Reuters (Refinitiv) system terminals, alongside information from other main global exchanges, so that they can be accessed by interested parties not only in Indonesia, but also around the world,` said Rahmanto. He further said that within the next two years, they are targeting for private producers to play a greater role in the KPBN exchange ecosystem platform. Indonesia's KPBN Seeks to Take Part in Making Global CPO Price. Although Indonesia is the world’s largest palm oil producer, global industry players still refer to Malaysia’s MDEX and the Rotterdam Exchange in the Netherlands.
KPBN has held CPO commodity exchanges for palm oil industry players in Indonesia since 1968. Its daily commodity exchange of CPO has become an integral part of making CPO prices in the country. Also, the Agriculture Ministry relies on KPBN as a benchmark for fresh fruit bunch prices from oil palm farmers. And the Energy Ministry has treated it as a reference for biodiesel subsidies.
`The upcoming program is establishing Indonesia to participate in coloring the dynamics of forming world CPO price through the activity of commodity exchanges held by KPBN, that is our determination and initiative,` Rahmanto said in a statement on Thursday.
As an initial step, KPBN has teamed up with international news outlets Reuters and Bloomberg.
`One of the benefits of this collaboration is that the prices formed through KPBN Commodity Exchange will appear on the terminal system platform from Bloomberg and Reuters, and side by side with information from other major world exchanges, making it possible to be accessed by interested parties not only in Indonesia but also worldwide,” Rahmanto said.
Rahmanto added that he hoped the collaboration could help strengthen KPBN’s footing both on the national and international levels, as it seeks to become one of the world-class plantation commodity exchanges.
`In the next two years, not only PTPN Group but also we are targeting private sector producers to take a bigger share in KPBN’s commodity exchange ecosystem platform,` Rahmanto said.
KPBN is a subsidiary of the state-owned plantation holding company PTPN III. Commenting on this initiative, Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III president director Abdul Ghani said that the company fully supported KPBN in becoming a price reference for palm oil commodities in Indonesia.
“We are aiming that the collaboration with Reuters and Bloomberg can generate a positive impact, thus the business climate of the palm oil industry in Indonesia can strengthen the economy as a whole,` he said.

PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) which has been organizing the CPO exchange for palm oil players in Indonesia since 1968 is determined to make Indonesia take part in coloring the CPO growth trend in the global market and also be a price reference for palm oil commodities in Indonesia and the world.
